In 2007, MES was asked to evaluate operational issues and practices related to the operation of a fly-in mine at a remote site in the far north, at the point of a change of control from owner management to contractor management.

This review included problems affecting production rate, tailings disposal, explosives inventory control, mine planning, environmental matters, and other operations issues. MES provided an opinion regarding these matters to the incoming management contractor and the mine owner.
