MES has been engaged to conduct underground reconnaissance, safety evaluation and remedial actions, and safety oversight for an underground geologic study and core removal program at this inactive oil shale mine.

The project involves restoration of infrastructure and exploration and rehabilitation of a 2300 foot deep steel-lined vertical shaft, and the establishment of safe working conditions for research scientists on 4 horizontal levels of this former US Bureau of Mines research facility.
