Underground Salvage Project
Client: Private
Location: United States

In 2007, MES was retained to remove certain valuable materials from the underground area of a mine which has been closed for several decades. This project involved passage through over 3000 feet of the tunnel which were filled with deep sludge, necessitating the adaptation of small low ground pressure tracked equipment and construction of plank roadways to reach the target area and safely effect the removal. Several roof falls had to be cleared. The project was completed on time and under budget, under tight client schedule constraints.
