US Highway 6 Rockfall Mitigation – Technical Blasting
Client: Rock & Company Inc., prime to CDOT

MES, as a subcontractor to Rock and Company, prime to the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT), performed consulting and blasting services for the removal of a large rock pinnacle (est. 100 Tons) which was discovered to be hanging above US Highway 6. Operations were performed by crane basket, while the highway was closed. MES successfully completed the blasting, meeting all requirements. The key shot was attended by a large contingent of CDOT management and engineering staff and was televised by KUSA Channel 9 news.
